This post was inspired by Eric of BluePop13.
I follow tons of blogs. Too many actually. Here are a few of the many blogs that stick out to me time and time again.
I am huge fans of the following blogs/sites and feel if you enjoy that content here at Life Destiny then you will probably enjoy these blogs.
1. The Blog of Author Tim Ferriss
The father of the modern Lifestyle Design.
His posting schedule is sporadic at best but whenever he posts an episode of “Random” (with Kevin Rose, one of the Digg founders) I find it both entertaining and informative. Kevin and Tim are a very talented duo to follow.
Tim posts are usually really in depth too and suggest you check out his speed reading post (it really works!)
2. Seth’s Blog
Seth Godin is one of my favorite writers. He has such a unique writing style that I really enjoy.
Seth is both an innovator and a tremendous marketer.
Not to long ago he recently conquered social media and the internet.
You should also check out his latest book Linchpin (see above link). Highly recommended along with everyone of his other books.
Brian Solis is the person anyone needs to follow if they want to be on the frontier of the social media landgrab.
Also check out my review of Brian Solis’ latest book Engage: The Complete Guide for Brands and Businesses to Build, Cultivate, and Measure Success in the New Web.
Maren Kate was the first person to reach out to offer to write a guest post for Life Destiny, The A to Z’s of Entrepreneurship
Maren is a huge inspiration to me and tons of other people (check out all the comments she gets!).
She also is a very talented and entrepreneur.
She is another person who has a unique and entertaining writing style that makes her stand out.
We need more Maren Kate’s in this world!
5. Onward State
This is my main source of news and information for Penn State University (where I will be graduating in May).
They are utilizing the power of social media and has eliminated The Daily Collegian (over 100 year old award winning University newspaper) from my go to resources.
6. Inc.com
Inc. is the only actual magazine that I am still subscribed to (as in it actually gets delivered to my real address box, lol).
Definitely a strong source for entrepreneurs.
7. American Express OPEN Forum
Another excellent source for entrepreneurs. They crowd source valuable content from various entrepreneurs and leaders from around the world.
It is also a great example of a large corporation effectively using social media to engage with their customers.
8. Mashable!
Though Mashable tends to fill up my Google Reader with tons of posts I could care less for, occasionally they will have a big-time social media post that I can implement into my social media strategies for both Life Destiny and for some of the clients I consult with on social media.
From the founders of 37Signals, a small (intentional) software firm based in Chicago.
Also the authors of one of the newest books on the New York Times Bestsellers list, Rework (not an affiliate link) and a wonderful web application design book called Getting Real which you can read online for free!
10. Mixergy.com
Andrew Warner runs Mixergy which contains excellent interviews to gain real-world insights into big-time and usually young entrepreneurs.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, I am attracted to entrepreneurship and social media blogs.
There are tons of other blogs I really enjoy following and my top 10 usually changes with my current interests.
Some of my other blog categories are Personal Development, Health and Nutrition, Blogging, Lifestyle Design, Economics, Finance, Design (graphic, web), Gen Y (specifically Marketing), Emerging Technologies, Penn State, $$Money$$, Web Analytics, Search Engine Marketing, and Investors (angel, venture).
Maybe I will be on a Personal Development kick here again soon and all these could change.
How about you, what are you top blogs that you could recommend to me and other readers to check out?
